Recap: Pawnee Heights Tigers vs. Western Plains/Healy
The Pawnee Heights Tigers won against Western Plains/Healy on Saturday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Pawnee Heights breezed by Western Plains/Healy at home to the tune of 55-18. That 55-18 margin sets a new team best for Pawnee Heights this season.
It was another big night for Davin Hamby, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pawnee Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Hammeke, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Pawnee Heights pushed their record up to 2-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Western Plains/Healy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pawnee Heights will be home for the holidays to greet Minneola at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. Western Plains/Healy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Logan/Palco at 4:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024.
