Softball Recap: Warren/Stockton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Warren/Stockton extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 9-3. Everything went their way against the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Warhawks, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madalynn Perry spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ady Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ireland Mensendike, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Warren/Stockton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Ridge/Scales Mound only posted an OBP of .167.

As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 11 runs.

On River Ridge/Scales Mound's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Winter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Warren/Stockton will be playing at home against Pearl City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they are taking a road trip to face off against East Dubuque at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
