Volleyball Recap: Fontana Takes a Loss

Fontana saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Malibu Sharks.

Donavan Bacon paced Fontana's offense, picking up nine kills. Bacon got some help from Luis Gonzalez and his 17 assists.

Fontana's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Malibu, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Fontana and Malibu should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Steelers (ranked 207th) will meet Bloomington (ranked 749th) at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Malibu will face off against Hueneme at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (188 vs. 1005).
