Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Gators vs. Centennial Eagles

The Palm Beach Gardens Gators won the last time they faced the Centennial Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Palm Beach Gardens walked away with a 60-50 win over Centennial. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palm Beach Gardens.

It was another big night for Kyana Poitier, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Russell, who scored 13 points.

Despite the loss, Centennial saw an underclassman step up: Jailyn Williams scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Williams scored a full 44% of Centennial's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jada Parson, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Palm Beach Gardens' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Palm Beach Gardens will take on Northwestern at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Centennial's road trip will continue as they head out to face Nova at 3:20 p.m. on January 6th.
