Baseball Recap: Greenup County Triumphs

The Greenup County Musketeers were able to grind out a solid win over the Mason County Royals on Thursday, taking the game 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Musketeers.

The team relied heavily on Gage Lamarque, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ty Logan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Greenup County's record now sits at 13-10. As for Mason County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Coming up, Greenup County will look to defend their home field on Friday against East Carter at 6:00 p.m. As for Mason County, they will head out on the road to challenge Pendleton County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight.
