Preview: Linden Tigers vs. Montgomery Cougars
Linden is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Montgomery is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Linden Tigers will take on the Montgomery Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, it was close, but Linden sidestepped Cranford for a 16-13 victory.
Linden haved a senior duo take command as Devon Chavis rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown and Tequan Thomas rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Meanwhile, Montgomery got themselves on the board against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Friday, but Scotch Plains-Fanwood never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Raiders. The result was nothing new for Montgomery, who have now won four contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Linden is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Montgomery, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 8-0.
Linden lost to Montgomery at home by a decisive 28-13 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Linden have more luck at home instead of on the road?
