Volleyball Recap: Emma Ramirez Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Riverside

There's no place like home for Gorton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Riverside Rams by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Gorton walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gorton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Ramirez, who had 18 digs and two aces. Ramirez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last three times she's played. Katie Rojas was another key player, getting eight digs, six kills, and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Gorton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 17 aces in five consecutive contests.

Gorton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
