Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Xavier Page and Kase Johnson Lead Irvington Preparatory Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indianapolis Metropolitan, Irvington Preparatory Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 67-59 victory over the Mooresville Christian Eagles.

Leading Irvington Preparatory Academy to victory were Kase Johnson and Xavier Page. Johnson went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points along with eight boards and three steals, while Page dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. The matchup was Page's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Meredith, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Irvington Preparatory Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Mooresville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Irvington Preparatory Academy will take on Providence Cristo Rey in a tournament on Thursday. Mooresville Christian and Lighthouse Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
