The Broomfield Eagles will face off against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Broomfield took a loss when they played away from home back in October, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They breezed past Skyline to the tune of 47-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their 13-point performance the game before.
Broomfield found their leader in freshman Kashus Clarvoe, who rushed for 166 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Clarvoe's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 166 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Montoya, who picked up 49 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Broomfield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Skyline to a completion percentage of just 48%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Alexander Darby, Andrew Socia, and Nick Penfold, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Broomfield; they were averaging 58.7%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 58.7%.

Broomfield's defense didn't let Servando Morales, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Darby was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. The game marked his first with multiple sacks this season. Jacory Ellis got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vista Ridge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 38-13 margin over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Vista Ridge found their leader in sophomore Jacob (Jb) Bourland, who forced one fumble and made 14 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Jackson Dismang made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Vista Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as (Jb) Bourland, Dismang, and Gabe Herman picked up one apiece. Dismang got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Vista Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Broomfield, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Broomfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 267 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Vista Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 217.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Broomfield against Vista Ridge when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wolves' Gabriel Mcfarland, who rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Eagles to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
