Football Game Preview: Southmoreland Scotties vs. Mt. Pleasant Vikings + How To Watch

The Southmoreland Scotties will take on the Mt. Pleasant Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Southmoreland sitting on seven straight wins and Mt. Pleasant on four.

Southmoreland's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Yough to the tune of 41-0. Considering the Scotties have won five matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Southmoreland found their leader in sophomore Jackson Mickens, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 101 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Mickens. Averyon Darnell was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown.

Southmoreland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yough only rushed for 83.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant beat Greensburg Salem 42-29 on Friday.

Mt. Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Southmoreland, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Southmoreland took their victory against Mt. Pleasant in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-7 score. Will the Scotties repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
