Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Tornados vs. North Hollywood Huskies

The Hoover Tornados will head out to take on the North Hollywood Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoover has given up an average of 52 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hoover easily dispatched University Prep on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Tornados fell just short of AGBU by a score of 61-59 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, North Hollywood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener two weeks ago. They took down East Valley 59-41. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hoover better focus on containing Nick Goldsman and Alex Luis as the pair were huge in North Hollywood's win. Goldsman dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten steals, while Luis went 7-for-15 en route to 17 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Luis a new career-high. Caymen Smith was another key player, putting up five points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Hollywood, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Hoover took a serious blow against North Hollywood when the teams last played back in December of 2015, falling 94-51. Thankfully for the Tornados, Sean Fernandez (who dropped a double-double with 37 points and 13 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
