Grand Ledge waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the St. Johns Redwings get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won 16 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tomia Geter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last five games.

In other batting news, Grand Ledge let Indya Fitzpatrick and Amelia Bernard run wild. Fitzpatrick went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Bernard went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Fitzpatrick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Mclean, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs.

Grand Ledge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Grand Ledge's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for St. Johns, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Ledge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lansing Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for St. Johns, they will square off against Okemos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
