Football Recap: Jackson Academy Skates Past Bayou Academy with Ease

Jackson Academy came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bayou Academy Colts 48-7. Considering the Raiders have won six contests by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaydann Hollins, who picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Hollins has posted since back in September. Another passer making a difference was Josef Walker, who threw for 111 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Jackson Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Jackson Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out Mitchell Jones four times. Bayou Academy's QB won't forget TJ White anytime soon given he sacked him twice. White is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Bayou Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jackson Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Pillow Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bayou Academy will face off against rival Magnolia Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
