Basketball Recap: Open Door Christian Takes a Loss

Open Door Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 56-47 to the Black River Pirates. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Black River found their leader in freshman Josh Stuart, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Zyan Griffin, who posted nine points.

Open Door Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Black River, their record now sits at 4-9.

Open Door Christian has already played their next match, a 44-43 loss against Andrews Osborne Academy on the 16th. As for Black River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-52 defeat against Columbia on the 17th.
