Volleyball Game Preview: Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack vs. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears

The Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack are taking a road trip to face off against the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elgin/Pope John has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will come in with five straight wins.

On Saturday, Elgin/Pope John didn't have quite enough to beat Central Valley and fell 2-1.

Despite the defeat, Elgin/Pope John saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gentry Zwingman had 15 digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got the win against Cedar Catholic on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-10, 25-17.

Elgin/Pope John's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.
