Soccer Recap: East River Falls Short of Viera in the Playoffs

East River and Viera squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but East River had to settle for second. They came up short against the Viera Hawks, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Hawks are ranked 46th).

East River has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season. As for Viera, they pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

East River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Viera, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-3 defeat against Melbourne on the 29th.
