Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Pope's 16th in Last 19 Outings

Pope posted their closest win since September 6th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Union Grove Wolverines, sneaking past 2-1.

Leading Pope to victory were Ansley Joachim and Jahan Lalli. Joachim had seven aces and four digs, while Lalli had nine digs, four aces, and one block. Lalli has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 22 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Pope was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Pope has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. As for Union Grove, with the loss, they broke their 14-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-4-1.
