Baseball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. Addison Trail Blazers

Lyons has gone a perfect 5-0 against Addison Trail recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lions will take on the Blazers at 4:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Addison Trail will be up against a hot Lyons squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand Hinsdale South an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Owen Cypress looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Lou Ratcliffe was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. EJ Kuhlman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Addison Trail got the win against Glenbard North on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-6.

Addison Trail's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lyons, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Lyons' way against Addison Trail in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Lyons made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
