Basketball Recap: Washburn's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Washburn waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 43-39 W against the Garrison Troopers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 43-39 victory last Friday.

Washburn pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.5 points. As for Garrison, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Washburn likes a good challenge. As for Garrison, they will venture away from home to take on Wilton/Wing at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
