Football Recap: Spring Skates Past Aldine with Ease + How To Watch

Spring got themselves on the board against Aldine on Friday, but Aldine never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-0 victory over the Mustangs. The Lions pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.

Spring's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincent Lee, who rushed for 119 yards and two scores on only seven carries. Lee has become a key player for the Lions: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-7 otherwise. Another back making a difference was Emanuel Bowen, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Spring was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Spring's defense and their five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Aldine's side was Jonah Espinosa, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (6.0 for loss).

Spring's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Aldine, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

As of now, neither Spring nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
