Football Game Preview: Santiam Christian Eagles vs. Scio Loggers

The Santiam Christian Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Scio Loggers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santiam Christian's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Scio's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Santiam Christian is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Dayton just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Sunday. They took a 23-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Scio never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Newport on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over the Cubs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Loggers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Santiam Christian's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Scio, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Santiam Christian against Scio when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
