Football Game Preview: Citronelle Wildcats vs. Elberta Warriors + How To Watch

The Citronelle Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Elberta Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Citronelle will be strutting in after a win while Elberta will be coming in after a defeat.

If Citronelle beats Elberta with 24 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wildcats walked away with a 24-14 victory over LeFlore on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Rattlers: they've now won six in a row.

Kemarkys Howard was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 105 yards on only seven passes. He is becoming a predictor of Citronelle's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Howard was just one part of a punishing run game: Citronelle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Meanwhile, Elberta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by UMS-Wright Prep and fell 34-6. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 50th).

Citronelle's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Elberta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Citronelle against Elberta in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 34-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
