Football Game Preview: Leflore County Tigers vs. Vardaman Rams + Official Tickets

The Leflore County Tigers will square off against the Vardaman Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leflore County has five straight victories, Vardaman has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Leflore County beat West Tallahatchie 34-26.

Leflore County found their leader in sophomore Demarius Dunham, who rushed for 181 yards on only 14 carries. Dunham has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Leflore County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Vardaman came up short against Okolona on Thursday and fell 34-26. Despite 61 more yards than the Chieftains, the Rams couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Leflore County will have to contain Grant Parker as he made an impact in Vardaman's last game. He rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 141 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes. Colton Edmondson was in the mix as well, providing Vardaman with one score.

Leflore County's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Vardaman, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
