Volleyball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Comes Up Short

Doniphan-Trumbull dropped to 12-14 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-match streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the St. Paul Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

Charlee Richter paced Doniphan-Trumbull's offense, picking up 24 kills. Richter got some help from Laini Rath and her 33 assists. Finally, Baylee Larson kept Doniphan-Trumbull's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

As for St. Paul, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 19th.

Delaney Jennings was nothing short of spectacular: she had 20 digs and three assists. Those 20 digs gave her a new career-high.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Doniphan-Trumbull and Sandy Creek will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Paul, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ord at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
