Basketball Recap: Aurora Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Aurora can now relate to. They were beaten by the Garfield Community Learning Center Golden Rams 73-45 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Greenmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Golden Rams are ranked 141st).

Garfield Community Learning Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rayshawn Hamilton out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. Hamilton's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Walker, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.

Aurora has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. Garfield Community Learning Center's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Aurora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Garfield Community Learning Center, they will take on Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Garfield Community Learning Center is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.
