After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five contests, Madison Prep Academy finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a 14-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Lab Cubs. Madison Prep Academy's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Landon Johnson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Madison Prep Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for University Lab, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Madison Prep Academy will square off against rival Helix Mentorship & Maritime Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, University Lab is set to challenge their familiar foe Port Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
