Basketball Game Preview: Caliche Buffaloes vs. Lone Star Longhorns

The Caliche Buffaloes will square off against the Lone Star Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Caliche is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Merino just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 58-30 loss at the hands of the Rams. The contest marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lone Star came up short against Idalia last Thursday and fell 56-45. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Caliche's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Lone Star, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Caliche against Lone Star in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, as the team secured a 62-35 win. Will the Buffaloes repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
