Softball Recap: Lee Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Lee Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Fort Kent Warriors.

Elena Linscott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Addy Lackore and Madisyn Green did most of the damage at the plate: Lackore went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Green went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brenna Noble, who went 1-for-5 with four stolen bases and one run.

Lee Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Fort Kent, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee Academy will face off against Searsport at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Kent, they will square off against Houlton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
