Basketball Game Preview: Delta Eagles vs. Alexandria-Monroe Tigers

The Delta Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Delta is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Muncie Central. The Eagles took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 67-22 victory over the Bearcats. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-10.

Jillian Barr was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a triple-double with 23 points, ten boards, and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Addison Barnes, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 22 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 81-7 win over Madison-Grant.

Delta suffered a grim 65-45 defeat to Alexandria-Monroe when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Jacklynn Hosier (who dropped a triple-double with 34 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
