Volleyball Recap: Musselman Takes Down Ranked Broadneck

Musselman is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Broadneck. The Applemen won by a set and slipped past the Bruins 3-2. The Applemen haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Musselman was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-22, 20-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Leading Musselman to victory were Gracie Ganse and Brielle Wolf. Ganse had 14 digs and two aces, while Wolf had 22 kills, 21 digs, and one block. That's the most aces Ganse has posted since back in September. Reese Troxler also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Musselman's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Broadneck, their loss ended a six-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Musselman will face off against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Broadneck, they will venture away from home to challenge Annapolis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
