Soccer Game Preview: South Burlington vs. Spaulding

The South Burlington Wolves will challenge the Spaulding Crimson Tide on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Burlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over North Country Union. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but South Burlington were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Spaulding came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Spaulding's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Spaulding's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for South Burlington, their win bumped their record up to 3-9-3.

South Burlington beat Spaulding 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wolves since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
