Basketball Game Preview: Waverly Tigers vs. Zane Trace Pioneers

Having just played yesterday, the Waverly Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Zane Trace Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Waverly had just enough and edged out Gallia Academy 57-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Zane Trace over Piketon in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Pioneers blew past the Redstreaks 60-35. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Redstreaks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Zane Trace, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Waverly might still be hurting after the 56-34 loss they got from Zane Trace in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
