Soccer Recap: South Elgin Find Success + How To Watch

South Elgin's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged out the Mundelein Mustangs 2-1. Given South Elgin's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Mundelein are ranked 111th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for South Elgin and bumps their season record up to 5-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matches. As for Mundelein, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, South Elgin will take on Glenbard West in a tournament on Saturday. As for Mundelein, they are taking a road trip to challenge Maine East at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday.
