Volleyball Recap: Elizabeth Cardinals vs. Glenwood Springs Demons

Elizabeth and Glenwood Springs squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Elizabeth had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Demons. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Elizabeth took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 26-24.

Kimber Heideman paced Elizabeth's offense, picking up six kills. Heideman got some help from Ann Jones and her ten assists. Heideman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Glenwood Springs to victory were Emory Walter and Kylee Bair. Walter had 19 assists and five digs, while Bair had three digs and two aces. That's the most digs Walter has posted over her last six matchups. Kaylee Molina also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Glenwood Springs, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.
