Softball Recap: Waterbury Career Academy Takes a Loss

Waterbury Career Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Oxford Wolverines, falling 17-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 21-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Waterbury Career Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinitey Sanchez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Waterbury Career Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterbury Career Academy will challenge Wilby at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Oxford, they will venture away from home to take on Shepaug Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
