Volleyball Recap: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley Gets the Win

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on May 1st.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-15, 24-26, 25-21, 15-11.

Ermin Alic paced Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley's offense, picking up 25 kills. Alic got some help from Christopher Hernandez and his 44 assists. Ryan Rivera controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley will square off against Windsor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, they will welcome Norwich RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Phoenix will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Warriors will have lost three straight heading into Wednesday's match.
