Basketball Recap: Phelps Takes a Loss

Phelps lost against Leslie County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hornets lost 81-61 to the Eagles.

Jesse Hoskins was a one-man wrecking crew For Leslie County. as he went 7-for-14 on his way to 22 points. What's more, Hoskins posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Wadon Whitehead was another key player, shooting 83% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Phelps' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Leslie County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Phelps will face off against Shelby Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leslie County, they will challenge Pike County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
