West Point put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over the Lafayette Commodores. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Green Wave's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Commodores are ranked 82nd).

West Point's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Thompson, who rushed for 100 yards on only ten carries.

Thompson was just one part of a punishing run game: West Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

West Point's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Lafayette, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

West Point has already played their next game, a 51-7 win against Caledonia on the 24th. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-14 victory against Columbus on the 24th.
