Volleyball Game Preview: Astoria Fishermen vs. Philomath Warriors

Astoria is 0-4 against Philomath since October of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Fishermen will challenge the Warriors at 9:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Astoria heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Marist by a score of 3-2.

Astoria wouldn't go down easily and took Marist into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-7, 25-27, 21-25, 15-9.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Philomath and Cascade, and Cascade kept the tradition alive. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Cougars on Friday.

The final score came out to 25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Astoria's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Philomath, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
