Baseball Recap: Purvis' Run of Nine Straight Wins Now Over

Purvis and West Lauderdale squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Purvis had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Tornadoes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kade Lawler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Purvis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyce Shepherd, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
