Basketball Recap: Voyager Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Durham Academy

Voyager Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Durham Academy Cavaliers and fell 67-7. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Durham Academy found their leader in freshman Naomi Adigun, who shot 86% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Adigun. Elizabeth 'E' Mead was another key player, going 6-for-8 en route to 13 points.

The win got Durham Academy back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Voyager Academy will square off against NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Unicorns' defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Durham Academy, they will take on East Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
