Basketball Recap: Cocoa Beach Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Merritt Island Christian, Cocoa Beach was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 34-27 victory over the Merritt Island Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Minutemen also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Cocoa Beach had a senior duo take command as Aariyah Robinson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds and Baylea Holland dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Holland. Zoie Shepherd was another key player, putting up four points and nine boards.

Merritt Island lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lexie Overdorf, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Overdorf is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Harris, who posted two points along with 13 boards and five blocks.
