Basketball Preview: Covenant Christian Academy vs. Harrisburg Christian
Covenant Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against Harrisburg Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Covenant Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lititz Christian.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 65-54 to New Covenant Christian.
Harrisburg Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Stargel, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Judah Kleinschmidt who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Stargel has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Sunday, who scored two points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Covenant Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Harrisburg Christian, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Covenant Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against the in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 64-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covenant Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
