Football Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Vista PEAK Prep came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Legacy Lightning, falling 59-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 55-22 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Loss or not, Vista PEAK Prep got some senior leadership from Canaan Barthlow and Isaiah Watson. Barthlow threw for 367 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, while Watson picked up 163 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Watson's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 121 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Gardner, who threw for 276 yards and one TD while completing 79.2% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Gardner a new career-high in passer rating (112.5). Joey Jewett also helped out as he racked up 116 receiving yards.

Vista PEAK Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Vista PEAK Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Legacy, they will take on Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
