Basketball Recap: Strathmore Sets Scoring Season-High Against Orosi

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strathmore). They managed a 40-34 win over the Orosi Cardinals on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Strathmore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayanara Topete led the charge by going 6-for-14 on her way to 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Topete a new career-high in field goal percentage (43%). Hailey Lee was another key player, putting up five points.

Strathmore's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Orosi, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Strathmore is taking a road trip to take on Templeton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Orosi, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Corcoran at 6:30 p.m.
