Baseball Recap: Person Takes a Loss

Person lost against East Chapel Hill back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Person Rockets fell just short of the East Chapel Hill Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ian Downey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Person's record is now 2-2. As for East Chapel Hill, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Looking ahead, Person will square off against Carrboro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Person is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. As for East Chapel Hill, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Durham School of the Arts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
