Basketball Recap: Bentonville West Takes a Loss

After flying high against Prairie Grove last Thursday, Bentonville West came back down to earth. The Bentonville West Wolverines took a blow against the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars on Thursday, falling 66-34. The match marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The loss snapped Bentonville West's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Bentonville West will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Life Prep at 12:45 p.m. on December 28th. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Shawnee Mission Northwest likes a good challenge.
