Football Game Preview: Mount Dora Hurricanes vs. Lake Highland Prep Highlanders

The Mount Dora Hurricanes will square off against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Dora has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Lake Highland Prep will come in with three straight victories.

Meanwhile, Lake Highland Prep's offense rose to the challenge against a Ducks defense that boasted an average of only 15 points allowed on Friday. The Highlanders put the hurt on Cornerstone Charter Academy with a sharp 42-19 win.

Lake Highland Prep's win came from a few key players Mount Dora will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eddie Bohne, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, and also picked up 99 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 99 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Wankelman, who threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes.

Lake Highland Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mount Dora, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Mount Dora has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lake Highland Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 180 rushing yards.
