It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Springfield had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Creek Wood Red Hawks 35-7. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won seven matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Kason Woodson, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September.
Springfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cameron Wilson.
The win (which was Springfield's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.4 points on average over those games. As for Creek Wood, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
As of now, neither Springfield nor the Red Hawks have any future games scheduled.
