Volleyball Recap: Altamont's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Altamont unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the St. Anthony Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Altamont started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-10, 25-15.

Kimber Sphar paced Altamont's offense, picking up eight kills. Sphar got some help from Riley Rippetoe and her 11 assists. Hope Roedl controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Altamont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for St. Anthony, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamont will welcome Dieterich at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Anthony, they will challenge Teutopolis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
